Freelance Editor
Job Description
Bundle.com provides data-driven content, recommendations and tools that help people to make better everyday spending decisions. Our content is regularly picked up by MSN Money, MSN Living, Business Insider, and Huffington Post, among other notable media outlets. Bundle is backed by Citigroup, Microsoft and Morningstar.
The Editor will play a key role in the development and distribution of content for a data-driven website, as well as gain valuable experience in getting the word out about a new product and brand.
Some specific responsibilities will include:
• Create data-driven content and load onto site
• Manage editorial calendar and brainstorm article ideas with data scientists
• Field pitches from freelancers, edit and fact-check articles, and collaborate with Managing Editor on assignments
• Monitor traffic for articles using Google Analytics, and alter links based on performance
• Help get the word out about Bundle, including managing social media (e.g. bi-monthly “BundleHQ Tweets” Twitter Roundup, Bundle Facebook page)
Additionally, we’re a small, diverse team in startup mode and interpersonal chemistry matters. Please have a passion for our product and a strong commitment to helping our users make better, smarter decisions on where and how to spend their money.
Candidate Requirements
• Superior writing skills and a passion for data-driven insights
• 2+ years of editorial experience
• Detail-oriented with a keen editorial eye (experience managing freelancers is a plus)
• Interest in online media, including social networks
• Desire and drive to work in a dynamic and collaborative start-up environment
