We are a social commerce company in Los Angeles.  We are looking for a senior developer to help our team complete a Magento Enterprise Implementation.  This is a freelance/independent contractor role, but we are looking for candidates with the potential to join us full-time.  You will be paid well and can work flexible hours and telecommute (although being based in California or LA in particular is a major plus). You should have experience working with both server-side (PHP) and client-side (Javascript/Ajax) scripting; ideally we are looking for someone who has lots of experience combining Javascript and Ajax.  The ideal candidate should be able to create impressive code based on challenging designs without resorting to unstable technology.  We are looking for a person that can create nicely formatted, well commented code. We also expect you to be able to do the debugging on your code so that others don’t have to as well as test your work in all target environments.  Your code should also be able to progressively enhance as users upgrade their browsers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years experience developing, testing and deploying websites and applications, especially e-commerce and content managed systems.
• Advanced Javascript/AJAX
• 3-5 years of experience developing web applications using: PHP5+, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, HTML5, CSS3.
• Significant Experience with integrating Facebook , Twitter, Pinterest and other social media deeply into a web experience.
• Implementation experience with Magento (Magento Enterprise is a plus).
• A portfolio showing your role in building applications and tools
• Experience with mobile platforms
• Comfort with autonomy
• Production experience with Magento Enterprise or a Magento Certification is a major plus!

Project Details

Our first project involves creating a Facebook Applications using the Facebook Javascript SDK so that we can create on-site interactions between Facebook and our Magento Enterprise Website.  Candidates must be familiar/experienced with:

• oAuthpublish_actions
• Frictionless sharing
• Interacting with Facebook Apps
• AJAX/JSON
• For this project- the Current Assets are as follows:
• Functioning e-commerce site (Magento)
• Sample, functioning Facebook app
• Functioning code used for interacting with FB app for various sharing functionalities
• Partially functioning code used for frictionless publishing to timeline
• Source javascript code from site being used for inspiration

Job Scope:

• Complete all required aspects of Facebook code to specifications
• Organize/refactor all javascript code to ensure it is properly functioning, handling errors properly and saving key data to Google Analytics
• Specifications by Function:
• Facebook App – initiate frictionless sharing aspect at checkout and when user favorites an item – just need to create js code, will be integrated with Magento by Magento developer
• Facebook Like, Twitter Tweet, Google +1 – update callback function to save required data to Google Analytics
• JQuery – some interface elements – modal windows, lightboxes, pop-ups need to be created for changing settings and messaging user about app functionality
