Job Description

We are a U.S. based company looking for a highly qualified Web Developer to join our global team. This is an ongoing flexible work from home, part- or full-time position – 10-40 hrs/week based on your availability. You must have a reliable setting to work independently.

You will participate in every aspect of the development of our web-based applications including design, implementation, validation, and deployment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve dynamic websites content and interfaces.
• Customize and integrate open source packages.
• Maintain websites and related applications in a LAMP environment.
• Communicate daily and work closely with our head developer.

Requirements:

• 3+ years writing PHP, MySQL, CSS, and AJAX from scratch (hand-coded, no WYSIWYG).
• Demonstrable use of object oriented and iterative design.
• Experience and solid understanding of web 2.0 principles.
• Experience with code version management.
• Ability to quickly convert abstract concepts into well-designed, impeccable code.
• Good understanding of cross-browser/OS issues.
• Experience with open source PHP scripts.
• Basic graphic design skills.
• Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively deal with the competing priorities and needs.

Prefered Experience (but not required):

• Flash/ActionScript
• JQuery
• Moodle
• SVN
• IDE’s (e.g. Eclipse)
